The Samurai Game® is considered by many to be the most unique, intense and challenging leadership and teambuilding experiential simulation available anywhere. Tens of thousands of individuals from around the world have participated in it, through organizational and corporate trainings and retreats, university and leadership courses, and personal development programs. The Samurai Game® was invented, written, and first performed in 1977 by George Leonard, author, award-winning editor, musician, Aikido instructor and pioneer in the Human Potential movement.

The Samurai Game® is about the process of supporting a work group to operate in a team-oriented environment that is characterized by such philosophies as shared purpose, shared values, shared vision, shared mission and a performance development system that enables people to grow both personally and professionally. It is ideal for organizations with a high mix of seniority in age, experience and competency.

The program gives participants an opportunity to reconnect with their purpose and how they can align their thoughts and actions towards their personal and collective vision. The program involves participants to devote to achieving self-empowerment as individuals and as a team to reach new heights and create new paradigms in working relationships.

Day 1

Module 1: Context Setting (9.00am – 10.30am)

Prepare for transformation! This module sets the stage with engaging activities and introduces the participants to the core principles of The Samurai Game®.

Module 2: Preparation (10.45am – 1.00pm)

This crucial phase isn't about strategy discussion; it focuses on entering a state of focused awareness, similar to the preparation rituals of the samurai. We'll achieve this through the GRACE principle:

  • Ground: Feel a sense of stability and connection.
  • Relax: Release tension and anxieties.
  • Aware: Sharpen your senses and mental focus.
  • Center: Find your inner balance and strength.
  • Energize: Spark a sense of vitality and purpose.

Module 3: Practice (2.00pm – 3.30pm)

Before facing the ultimate test, this module prepares the participants with the necessary skills and strategies to conquer any battlefield.

Module 4: The Battle (3.45pm – 5.30pm)

In this module, participants will unleash their honed skills and teamwork in a thrilling battle against another team. Here's what awaits them:

  • Adopt battle strategies into action and make decisions under pressure.
  • Face the test with resilience and a united spirit to claim victory!

Day 2

Module 5: Debrief Session (9.00am – 10.30am)

This module helps participants debrief and extract the key learnings and takeaways from the intense battle experience. We'll guide them to reflect on their actions, decisions, and teamwork, fostering valuable insights for future endeavors.

Module 6: Strategy Session (10.45am – 12.00pm)

This session delves deeper into the participants' battle experience using the powerful design thinking framework:

Module 7: The Wrap-Up (2.00pm – 3.30pm)

The final module celebrates the participants’ achievements and reinforces key learnings.
